New 4-lane bridge to cater more than 14k vehicles an hour

“The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has unveiled plans for a significant infrastructure development, the Al Shindagha Corridor Improvement Project. As part of this project, a state-of-the-art 1.4-kilometer, four-lane bridge will be constructed, connecting Dubai Islands and Bur Dubai.

This ambitious endeavor will provide direct entry and exit points on the Bur Dubai side, achieved through a bridge that spans the Dubai Creek, situated between the Infinity Bridge and the Port Rashid Development Project.

The key features of this bridge include a length of 1,425 meters and four lanes in each direction, boasting a remarkable total capacity of 16,000 vehicles per hour in both directions. Standing at an elevation of 15.5 meters above the waters of Dubai Creek, it also incorporates a spacious 75-meter-wide canal designed to facilitate the passage of various types of ships through the creek.

This strategic development represents a significant milestone in enhancing the transportation infrastructure in the region.”
