Dubai Schools and Government Go Remote Due to Weather

In response to the anticipated severe weather conditions in Dubai, private schools and government departments will implement remote work and learning on Tuesday, April 16. This precautionary measure, announced by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, aims to ensure the safety of residents and employees amid the fluctuating weather patterns.

GEMS Education, a leading private school group, has also announced that all its schools will switch to remote learning on the same day. Similarly, schools regulated by the Sharjah Private Education Authority [SPEA] will continue with remote learning on Wednesday, in accordance with the regulator’s guidance. The decision to move to remote learning reflects a proactive approach to safety, prioritizing the well-being of students, staff, and the wider community during these challenging weather conditions.
