Dubai is set to celebrate the UAE National Day with a special announcement regarding parking. The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has declared two days of free parking from December 2 to December 3, 2023, allowing residents to enjoy the holiday without worrying about parking fees. This initiative translates to a three-day free parking period since no fees are charged on Sundays.

Extended Weekend for Residents

Most residents will benefit from a four-day long weekend as December 2 and 3 have been designated as public holidays for both private and public sectors in honor of Eid Al Etihad, which celebrates the unification of the Emirates. All private schools, nurseries, and universities in Dubai will be closed during this period, with classes resuming on Wednesday, December 4.

Celebrating UAE National Day

The UAE National Day, now referred to as Eid Al Etihad, commemorates the country’s formation in 1971. This year marks the 53rd anniversary of this significant event. Official celebrations will take place against the stunning backdrop of Al Ain, featuring attendance from the nation’s leaders and rulers.

Important Notes for Residents

Residents are encouraged to take advantage of the free parking offer while enjoying the festivities. However, it’s important to note that multi-storey parking facilities will still incur charges during this time.
