Dubai Taxi Company Expands Fleet to 6,000 with 300 New Taxis

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has awarded 300 new taxi plates to the Dubai Taxi Company (DTC), expanding its fleet to nearly 6,000 vehicles. This strategic move aims to enhance transportation efficiency in the emirate while meeting the growing demand for sustainable transport solutions.

Increased Fleet and Market Share

With the addition of these 300 new taxis, DTC’s market share in Dubai’s taxi industry rises to 46%. This expansion reflects the company’s commitment to adapting to the robust population and economic growth in the region. The expanded fleet is projected to generate an additional Dh100 million in annual revenues, further solidifying DTC’s position as the leading transport operator in Dubai.

Commitment to Sustainability

Mansoor Rahma Al Falasi, CEO of DTC, emphasized the importance of this fleet expansion in their overall strategy. He noted that 25% of the new taxis will be electric, highlighting DTC’s dedication to sustainability and innovation. This initiative aligns with Dubai’s ambitious target of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050, showcasing a proactive approach to low-carbon mobility solutions.

Future Growth Plans

In 2024, DTC plans to increase its fleet by approximately 10%, aiming for a total of nearly 9,000 vehicles across various segments, including taxis, limousines, buses, and motorcycles. This growth strategy underscores DTC’s focus on customer-centric solutions and innovation, ensuring that residents and visitors in Dubai enjoy efficient and reliable transportation options
