Dubai’s New Bridge Cuts Travel Time from 21 to 7 Minutes

Revolutionizing Dubai’s Traffic Infrastructure

New Bridge Opening: A recent addition to Dubai’s skyline is the newly opened bridge, inaugurated on June 9, separating traffic from Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Road to the service road leading to Jumeirah Golf Estate and Dubai Production City.

Enhanced Capacity: This two-lane bridge boasts a remarkable capacity of 3,200 vehicles per hour, significantly reducing congestion and ensuring smoother traffic flow. It forms a pivotal part of the ongoing project aimed at enhancing the Garn Al Sabkha-Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Road intersection.

Crucial Link: As part of a larger traffic project, which includes the construction of four bridges, this development is set to serve as a vital link between key roads such as Sheikh Zayed and Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed, as well as First Al Khail and Al Asayel roads.

Travel Time Reduction: Upon project completion, commuters can expect a considerable reduction in travel time, particularly from Garn Al Sabkha Street to Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Road towards Qusais and Deira, from 20 minutes to just 12 during peak hours. Additionally, motorists traveling from Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Road to Al Yalayes Street, in the direction of Jebel Ali Port, will witness a staggering 70% decrease in journey time, plummeting from 21 minutes to a mere seven.

Future Bridges: Alongside this impressive structure, three other bridges are in the pipeline, each designed to optimize traffic flow and alleviate congestion. These bridges will facilitate smoother travel between key destinations, providing a seamless experience for commuters traversing Dubai’s bustling roads.
