New Toll Pricing Structure

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) will implement a variable toll pricing system for Salik starting January 31, 2025. This new system introduces dynamic toll rates based on peak and off-peak hours, enhancing traffic management across the city.

Peak and Off-Peak Rates

During weekdays, motorists will pay Dh6 during peak hours from 6 AM to 10 AM and 4 PM to 8 PM. For off-peak hours, which include 10 AM to 4 PM and 8 PM to 1 AM, the toll will be Dh4. On Sundays, excluding public holidays and major events, the toll will remain Dh4 all day and will be free from 1 AM to 6 AM.

Special Rates During Ramadan

During Ramadan, the toll rates will adjust as follows:

  • Weekday Peak Hours: Dh6 from 9 AM to 5 PM
  • Weekday Off-Peak Hours: Dh4 from 7 AM to 9 AM and 5 PM to 2 AM
  • Free passage between 2 AM and 7 AM from Monday to Saturday.

No Changes in Existing Charges

Salik confirmed that there will be no changes in the charges for passing through the Al Safa North, Al Safa South, Al Mamzar North, and Al Mamzar South toll gates when crossing in the same direction within one hour.

Upcoming Changes in Parking Fees

In addition to the new toll rates, a Variable Parking Tariff Policy will be implemented by the end of March 2025, setting fees at:

  • Dh6 per hour for premium parking spaces during peak hours (8 AM to 10 AM and 4 PM to 8 PM).
  • Dh4 per hour for other public paid parking spaces during the same peak hours.
  • Free parking overnight from 10 PM to 8 AM, and all day on Sundays.

Event-Specific Congestion Pricing

Starting in February 2025, a new congestion pricing policy will introduce a fee of Dh25 per hour for public paid parking spaces near event zones, initially around the Dubai World Trade Centre during major events.

Conclusion

These changes reflect Dubai’s commitment to improving traffic flow and parking availability. Motorists are encouraged to plan their travel accordingly and take advantage of toll-free hours to optimize their commuting experience.
