RTA Announces Minimum Top-Up Adjustment for Nol Cards Effective January 15

Starting from January 15, the minimum top-up amount for Nol cards in Dubai will be increased to Dh20, as announced by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in a tweet on Friday. Currently, the minimum top-up requirement is Dh5. In addition, commuters are advised to maintain a balance of Dh15 on their Nol cards to cover a round trip on the Metro transit network. The Nol card, a prepaid smart card, is widely used for various public transportation modes in Dubai, including the Metro, buses, trams, and waterbuses. It is also utilized for taxi fares, parking, park entry, museum admission, and at numerous shops and restaurants across the city. Nol cards can be conveniently topped up at RTA ticket vending machines, solar top-up machines, and the Nol Pay app for virtual cards. The Nol Plus loyalty program offers cardholders points and exclusive benefits for their transit and other purchases.
