Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has officially opened a new three-lane bridge connecting Zaa’beel Palace Street to Al Khail Road, significantly easing traffic flow towards Abu Dhabi.
Bridge Specifications
This new bridge spans 700 meters and will accommodate up to 4,800 vehicles per hour. It enhances connectivity between Zaa’beel Palace Street and Oud Metha Road, providing a smoother transit to Al Khail Road.
Al Khail Road Improvement Project
The bridge is part of the larger Dh700 million Al Khail Road Improvement Project, which aims to construct five new bridges and improve traffic conditions along this vital highway. The RTA anticipates that the project will reduce travel times by 30% once fully completed.
Comprehensive Road Enhancements
The initiative includes extensive road improvements across multiple locations, including Zabeel, Meydan, Al Quoz 1, Ghadeer Al Tair, and Jumeirah Village Circle. These upgrades will expand the road’s capacity, allowing for approximately 19,600 additional vehicles per hour and effectively eliminating traffic congestion along the route.
