As Dubai International Airport (DXB) gears up to welcome a surge of returning residents after the summer break, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced extended operating hours for the Dubai Metro.
Accommodating Increased Passenger Traffic
DXB, the world’s busiest international airport, expects to handle 3.43 million guests over the next 13 days as residents return from their summer holidays. The authority will manage more than half a million guests between August 31 and September 1, with September 1 set to be the busiest day, accommodating 291,000 guests.
Revised Metro Timings
To ensure smooth transportation during this peak travel period, the RTA has extended the Dubai Metro’s operating hours. The new timings are as follows:
- Thursday, August 22 to Saturday, August 24: 5am to 2am
- Sunday, August 25: 8am to 2am
Preparing for Record-Breaking Passenger Numbers
Dubai had welcomed a record 44.9 million guests during the first six months of this year, DXB had announced earlier this month. The extended Metro timings aim to alleviate the anticipated rush and provide efficient transportation options for returning residents.
Staying Up-to-Date with the Latest News
The RTA’s proactive measures to extend Metro timings demonstrate its commitment to ensuring a seamless travel experience for Dubai’s residents and visitors during this peak period.
