Sheikh Mohammed Confirms 260 Million More Meals Coming This Year

The UAE has achieved a major humanitarian milestone. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, announced that the One Billion Meals campaign successfully delivered food aid to 65 countries over the past three years.

The initiative, launched by Sheikh Mohammed in 2022, originally aimed to support vulnerable communities in 50 countries. However, with expanded efforts, the campaign reached 15 more countries than planned.

New Phase to Provide 260 Million Meals

Sheikh Mohammed confirmed that the campaign won’t stop here. In a recent post on X (formerly Twitter), he revealed that the UAE will distribute an additional 260 million meals this year. He also highlighted the launch of sustainable real estate endowments that will help fund future food aid efforts.

A Legacy of Giving: From 10 Million to 1 Billion Meals

The One Billion Meals campaign follows earlier UAE initiatives including 10 Million Meals and 100 Million Meals. All of them reflect Sheikh Mohammed’s vision of supporting global food security.

In 2022 alone, the campaign delivered critical aid to crisis-affected families and displaced individuals in 13 countries such as Jordan, India, Pakistan, Lebanon, Kyrgyzstan, Angola, and Uganda.

Building a Sustainable Food Ecosystem

Unlike short-term aid, this campaign invests in long-term solutions. By building a reliable food supply chain, the UAE continues to support underserved populations and align with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal 2 — ending hunger by 2030.
